Modern day printing technology has greatly increased the speed and quality of color printing. Designs are now developed digitally from outside sources and fed through a modern computer to plate systems that develop color pictures right on to a printing plate. This has a very high printing capacity compared to older processes. Thus, postcard order of 5000 or more can be printed in a very short period of time using printers comparable to those used for high quality magazines.
