Cholesterol and Heart Disease

Cholesterol is a substance that is present in all animal cells, including humans. They are made by the cells because the cell walls need them to remain healthy. Thus, partaking of animal meat presents us with an abundance of cholesterol. Bad cholesterol is involved in the formation of sticky deposits on the walls of arteries in and around the heart which causes heart disease. Thus, reduction and maintenance of healthy levels of cholesterol by any means is necessary for continue health. There are drugs that help control and reduce cholesterol levels.
